Parish Council Notes – January 2010

These notes are highlights from the minutes of the Parish Council Meeting on 7th December  2009 and will be published in the Parish Magazine in January 2010.

Planning Applications
6.68.171.FUL Cherry Tree House, Straight Lane, planning permission for the erection of a two storey side and single storey rear extension was granted on 17th November.

 6.68 KIOSK we have received notification of a proposal to remove the public payphone and an invitation to adopt the red kiosk on the green.  Unfortunately Harrogate Borough Council have not given us enough time to consult with the public about this, we have responded strongly objecting to the removal of the telephone service and the kiosk.  If anyone has any views about this please contact the clerk or respond to HBC directly on 01423 556666 and the details can be found under planning at www.harrogate.gov.uk.

 North Yorkshire Highways
Speed assessment and possible signage improvement is still ongoing in the village and we are awaiting further investigation in the New Year, we will keep you posted with any developments.

We are continuing to improve our website and the information that is available on it. Please contact the clerk if you have any information or photos that you would like to be posted on it.  We keep it up to date regularly and we hope that villagers are finding it useful; www.burtonleonard.org.uk, any feedback would be gratefully received.

 Next meeting
The next meeting will be held in St Leonard’s Hall on Monday 11th January 2010 at 7:30pm.  Members of the public are very welcome to attend the meeting and we invite people to raise their views and concerns at the beginning of the meeting or in writing to the clerk.
