Parish Council Notes – July 2010

These notes are highlights from the minutes of the Parish Council Meeting on 7th June 2010 and will be published in the Parish Magazine in July 2010.

Statement from the Parish Council and School.

The Parish Council and Burton Leonard Primary School are working together to find the best solution to resolve the issues regarding the cutting of the grass on the high green.  We are aware of the problems involved and are trying to understand the history behind who is responsible for this maintenance and rectify the issue.
We hope to come to a resolution quickly, however in the meantime if there are any volunteers who are willing to cut the grass and who have the right machinery, we would like to hear from you.  Also, if you have any information regarding the historical arrangement please get in touch.  You can contact either Becky Coates, Clerk on (677963) or Sally Drake, School Bursar on (677412).
Thank you for your patience in this matter.

Community Litter Pick
The community litter pick was very successful on Friday 4th June, thank you to all the volunteers who helped to clear the litter in and around the village.  We hope to have an annual litter pick and the next one will be held in April 2011.

Parking in the Village
The Parish Council requests that villagers take care not to park on grass verges and curbs.  This is to prevent damage which is being caused to the grass verges and to ensure that pedestrians are able to use the footpaths safely.  The verges are the property of North Yorkshire Highways who will investigate and if necessary take legal action if damage is being caused or obstructions are made.

Next meeting
The next meeting will be held in St Leonard’s Hall on Monday 5th July 2010 at 7:30pm, members of the public are invited to raise their concerns and observe the business of the meeting.
