Parish Council Notes – April 2012

These notes are highlights from the minutes of the Parish Council Meeting on 5th March together with information since the meeting and will be published in the Parish Magazine in April 2012.

Planning
The parish council have received notification of a planning application for the play equipment for the new playground at The Sports Field, Burton Leonard.  This application will be discussed at the next parish council meeting and the plans will be available to view.

 The councillors decided to go ahead with some tree maintenance; planning consent will be applied for and pruning works will be instructed.

Elections
Parish Council Elections are on Thursday 3rd May and we are looking for prospective candidates to be nominated.
 
This is a great opportunity to get involved with the village and for new people to be elected.  There are currently 5 seats which need to be filled and current parish councillors may or may not be putting themselves forward.  Now is the time – your village needs you!

Nominations papers must be completed and returned to the offices in Harrogate by 4th April 2012.

Next meeting
The next meeting will be held in St Leonard’s Hall on Monday 16th April 2012 at 7:30pm, members of the public are invited to raise their concerns and observe the business of the meeting.
