Parish Council Notes – October 2012
We have received notification of a planning application (6.68.125.B.FULMAJ) to erect a free range egg unit at Hambleton View Farm, Common Balk Lane. This application will be discussed at the next parish council meeting and the plans will be available to view. The plans can also be seen at www.harrogate.gov.uk.
Unfortunately there are a number of pets which have gone missing recently. This has been reported to our local police officer, Gareth Jones. In the meantime, please be careful with your animals, we strongly advise that cats should be brought in during the evening. Please also ensure that dogs are kept on a lead or in close control and stick to the public footpaths.
Instances of lamping activities have been reported in fields at the back of Scarah Lane. Although this is a legal pursuit to control foxes and rabbits on farmland, the parish council have notified the police of our safety concerns of fire arms being discharged in the close proximity to family homes and gardens, which is currently being investigated. We have also been in touch with the manager of Mountgarret Estates in respect of this matter.
Low Green Foul Sewer
Please be aware that there are foul sewer flooding issues on the low green and we strongly advise that children avoid playing near the flooded area. Yorkshire Water are aware of this urgent and serious problem and they are currently undergoing investigation and maintenance.
There are continuing problems of dog mess in specific areas and roaming dogs in the village. Villagers are encouraged to report incidents as they occur directly to the dog warden. The Dog Warden, Lucy, can be contacted on 01423 556633 or emailed at email@example.com.
The next meeting will be held in The Village Hall on Monday 1st October 2012 at 7:30pm, members of the public are invited to listen to the chairman’s report, raise their concerns and observe the business of the meeting.
