Parish Council Notes – April 2013

These notes are highlights from the minutes of the Parish Council Meeting on 4th March together with information since the meeting and will be published in the Parish Magazine in April 2013.

Local Development Framework (LDF)

We have not received any new information about the proposed development since we sent our newsletter out in January.  However just to confirm the current details as follows:

Name: RL3032a – Land at Flatts House (North), Burton Leonard

Proposed use: Housing – Market and Affordable

Capacity: 40 dwellings

Gross Area: 1.49 Ha (3.68 acres)

10 May to 21st June 2013

Before the Sites and Policies DPD is submitted to the Secretary of State for an Independent Examination it will be subject to a final stage of public consultation (Publication Consultation) from 10 May to 21 June 2013. This will be the next and final opportunity to comment upon the proposed plan. HBC have said they will contact us directly at the start of the consultation with information about how to respond & a quick response may be required!

Any new information will be posted on the notice boards, website and magazine.

Annual Litter Pick

We will be holding a litter pick on DATE TO BE CONFIRMED at 10am meeting on the low green and we welcome as much help as possible.  Bags and equipment will be provided.  The more volunteers the lighter the work, so please please come along to help clean up our village.

Superfast Broadband

The Parish Council met with a representative from Superfast Broadband North Yorkshire to discuss the fibre optic broadband which is now available in the village.  Please see separate notes.

Pot Holes

The pot hole at the top of Station Lane has been reported to Highways and we await their response for maintenance.  Pot holes on Straight Lane have also be photographed and reported again to Highways.  If you have any concerns you can report highways issues online at: www.northyorks.gov.uk – Transport & Streets section – then ‘Report a pot hole’ is in the ‘Top Tasks’ list, the more reports submitted, the quicker the response!

Next meeting
The next meeting will be held in St Leonard’s Hall on Monday 8th April 2013 at 7:30pm, members of the public are invited to listen to the chairman’s report, raise their concerns and observe the business of the meeting.
