Parish Council Notes – December 2013

These notes are highlights from the minutes of the Parish Council Meeting on 4th November together with information since the meeting and will be published in the Parish Magazine in December 2013.

Planning
The following planning notification has been received and it will be available to view at the next Parish Council meeting:
6.68.123.A.FUL Erection of a single storey extension and porch at Orchard House, Peter Lane, Burton Leonard.
You can also find the details on the HBC website: http://www.harrogate.gov.uk.

Broadband
The uptake of Superfast Broadband in the village has exceeded expectations.  The initial installation of 100 broadband circuits was taken up quickly, meaning BT Openreach had to upgrade the Broadband equipment in our cabinet at the end of October.  We now have 144 broadband circuits in total, 40 of which are still available for new subscribers.

Vulnerable people
We would like to hear from you if you feel you might need support in the event of an emergency.  We urge everyone to look out for their neighbours and help when needed.  If you feel that you or someone you know would possibly need assistance in the event of an emergency, please contact Becky Coates (677963), Avril Clark (677817) or Louise Fields (677102) with details.

Dog fouling
Please could dog owners be more responsible about picking up their dog’s mess?  It really is inappropriate to leave it on people’s drives and pavements.  If you know of anyone that does not pick up after their dog, please report them to the Dog Warden on 01423 500600 and they may be fined.

Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRC)
NYCC are consulting with the public about options for savings on the HWRC budget.  You can find out more and tell them what you think about the proposals in the following ways:

The consultation ends on 22 December 2013.
