Parish Council Notes – August 2014

These notes are highlights from the minutes of the Parish Council Meeting on 7th July 2014 together with information since the meeting, they will be published in the August edition of the Parish Magazine.

Vacancy
The Parish Council invites applications for the post of Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer. The Parish Council usually meet 11-14 times a year and the Clerk is responsible for preparing agendas, taking minutes of meetings, dealing with correspondence, following up actions agreed by the councillors and acting as Responsible Financial Officer to the Council which include keeping the accounts, monitoring the budget and assisting in its preparation.

The Clerk is required to work from home and have access to a computer with an internet connection. Contracted hours are five per week paid on a nationally agreed scale starting at £9.009 per hour. Experience would be useful but not essential. Applicants should be willing to undertake agreed training where appropriate.

Waste & Countryside Services
From 4th August a charge will be made for the disposal of hardcore, rubble and plasterboard delivered to household waste recycling centres in North Yorkshire. From this date they will also be opening up these entries to businesses at a charge. There is a notification poster on the notice board.

Later Life Annual Challenge
This organisation has asked if we can publish the following info on website/magazine about their annual challenge – there are no entrants from Yorkshire so far!!
‘Have you done something new since you retired? Started a new hobby or interest, joined a club or planned an event or trip? Next meeting
The next meeting will be held in St Leonard’s Hall on Monday 1st September 2014 at 7:30pm, members of the public are invited to listen to the chairman’s report, raise their concerns and observe the business of the meeting.
