These notes are highlights from the minutes of the Parish Council Meeting on 1st September 2014 together with information since the meeting, they will be published in the October edition of the Parish Magazine.
We are pleased to announce the recruitment of our new clerk Sybil Whiting, from Ripon, who will officially start her role on 1st October. She has lots of experience from working with Grewelthorpe Parish Council and we warmly welcome her to our Parish Council.
Becky will continue to be the contact for the village website, so please email her directly if you would like to provide updates, information or photos to be posted on it.
Dementia Forward, who are based in Ripon, are looking in to the possibility of purchasing the old Methodist Chapel to use as an office and ‘drop-in’ place for people with dementia and their family carers. Before they do they would like to hear the views of the village about this proposed usage. Jill Quinn the C.E.O of Dementia Forward will be attending the next Parish Council meeting on 29th September in St Leonards Hall, to outline their plans and answer any questions. If you read this post meeting and have questions please contact the Clerk.
We would like to hear whether or not you would like to have a Christmas Tree on the green? The Parish Council will need to research the feasibility of having one (insurance, costs, health & safety, electricity, storage of lights etc) but in the meantime we would like to know if there is enough interest from the village. We have set up a poll on the website – please register your interest online (or to the clerk by post).
The next meeting will be held in St Leonard’s Hall on Monday 29th September 2014 at 7:30pm, members of the public are invited to listen to the chairman’s report, raise their concerns and observe the business of the meeting.
The Chairman is Marie Barker
The Clerk is Rebecca Coates, 3 Burnett Close, 677963, firstname.lastname@example.org
